How To Promote Your Ministry: Internet Tips

Learning how to promote your ministry online is one ministry marketing skill that can reap you great benefits. Jesus told us to “go” and make disciples.

With today’s technology that “going” can be right in the comfort of our home as we reach out with our computers using social media, video and other web 2.0 strategies and other venues online to minister the hope we have in Jesus Christ.

Knowing how to promote your ministry begins with some basic tenants to consider.

1) Pray. You will need His guidance and direction. One day of His favor is worth 10,000 days of labor. So stay in right relationship with God asking Him for His guidance and direction. He can give you wisdom and strategies to reach people in ways you would never have thought possible. \ He can lead you on the path to the fulfillment of your vision!

2) Know your audience. This basic principle is key in learning how to promote your ministry online. You will want to focus on a niche within your targeted audience.

3) Write out a purpose statement that includes your targeted audience. For example, part of my purpose with this website is to share ministry marketing strategies using video, social media, and basic internet marketing training to teach today’s Christian ministries how to use the internet to promote their ministries and reach more people for the gospel. Another segment of that purpose is to use video to inspire, encourage, and teach people how to be free, financially to spiritually, to go in the direction God has called them…to be released to their divine destiny.

• Basic Search Engine Optimization-Also known as SEO, this is the study of teaching people how to use specific keywords and page titles so people will find your website, video ministry or business. You can powerful tools to learn which “keywords” someone might type to find something. For example, “When someone is searching for __________, I want them to find my page to this blog, video, or website.



• E-mail Marketing Strategies- If you have been around internet marketing at all, you know the power of building your “list”. E-mail can be one of the best tool for ministry, and marketing any ministry related products (e-books, video series, teaching tools) you might have available.

• Video Marketing- A big part of this website is focused on this one amazing marketing method. We’ll show you how you can submit a video once and how it can be sent instantaneously to video sights, social bookmarking sites, and podcasts. You also have realize the power of having your own YouTube site. YouTube is the second largest search engine. YouTube gets 300,000,000 a month who watch 2,000,000,000 videos. And that statistic grows each day.

• Social Media attack where you engage your prospective audience on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other social sites. Whether you know it or not, your audience, your prospects, your future clients are using social media. The fastest demographic among Facebook users is 35 to 65 year old women!

• Mobile marketing: 91% of Americans have mobile phones. Of that number, around 20% of them (about 45 million) have phones with internet capabilities. I know for the longest time I used mine as a booster seat for my growing children at the dinner table.
